Thomas Edwards Obituary
He was born July 3, 1947, in Butler, and was the son of the late Courtland and Florence (Cranmer) Edwards.
Thomas was a mine sweeper and combat engineer for the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
He graduated from Slippery Rock University with a bachelor's degree in economics. Thomas retired from the Local Laborers Union 373 after 27 years, and worked at Pullman Standard, as well as tended bar at numerous local establishments.
He enjoyed the outdoors and gardening, and was known for his spirituality and strong political views. Above all else, he was known for his unending love of animals.
Thomas was the father of Aaron (Heather) Edwards and Angela (Alastair Khodabukus) Edwards and the brother of Patricia (Gordon) Ray and Robert (Tara Allman) Edwards.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Liam and Brennan, and a loving family.
Thomas was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Jessie Myers, who passed away on Dec. 26, 2019.
EDWARDS - Friends of Thomas L. Edwards, who died Sunday, May 23, 2021, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at SPENCER D. GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 140 New Castle Road, Butler.
A prayer service will immediately follow in the funeral home.
Burial will be held privately in Butler County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Butler County Humane Society.
