Thomas M. Mikolay Sr.
Thomas M. Mikolay Sr., 83, of Saxonburg died Thursday at the Saxony Health Center.
Born Sept. 7, 1923, in Bentleyville, Washington County, he was the son of Steven and Margaret Mikolay.
He served with the Army in the India-Burma theater during World War II.
Mr. Mikolay had been a millwright at the U.S. Steel Sintering Plant in Saxonburg and retired in 1983.
He was a member of the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church of Glade Mills, the Knights of Columbus, the Saxonburg VFW Post 7376, the Saxonburg American Legion Post 683 and the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Surviving are his wife, Earlene Mikolay; a son, Thomas M. Mikolay Jr. of Brunswick, Ohio; two sisters, Martha DiPuccio of Mayfield Heights, Ohio, and Betty Morosky of Richeyville, Washington County; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Cleora Virginia Mikolay, who died Oct. 30, 1975; two sons, William John and Daniel Steven Mikolay; five brothers, and a sister.
MIKOLAY - Friends of Thomas M. Mikolay Sr., who died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007 will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the Holy Sepulcher Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Daniel Maurer officiating.
Burial will follow at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery.
