Thomas Skehan Obituary

FITCHBURG -- Thomas James Skehan, 87, of 79 Crestview Lane, died Friday, Sept. 17, in HealthAlliance Hospital/Leominster, after an illness.

He was born on April 17, 1917, in Fitchburg, the son of James and Ann (Morely) Skehan, and was a lifelong Fitchburg resident. He attended St. Bernard’s High School in Fitchburg.

Mr. Skehan was a self-employed oil burner technician for 65 years.

He was a member of the Eastwood Club in Fitchburg.

Mr. Skehan leaves three daughters, Patricia Johnson of Oceanside, Calif., Sister Carol Skeehan MPV of Rutland and Kathy Lingo of Winchendon; one brother, John Skehan of Ashburnham; six grandchildren, Thomas Skehan of New Mexico, Thomas and Michael Clark both of California, Charles Coon of Fitchburg, Kelly Coon of Leominster, and Anthony Lingo of Winchendon; nephews and nieces. Three brothers, Donald, Edward, and Paul Skehan, all of Fitchburg, predeceased him.

SKEHAN -- On Sept. 17, Thomas James Skehan, 87, of Fitchburg. The funeral will be held Wednesday, Sept. 22, from Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in St. Bernard’s Church, 240 Water St., Fitchburg. Burial will be private. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday, Sept. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the Venerini Academy, 27 Edward St., Worcester, MA and may be left at the funeral home.
