Todd McCarthy Obituary

Todd Thomas McCarthy, 59, of Butler, passed away Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born April 14, 1966, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late Keith T. McCarthy and the late Elizabeth Ann Toner McCarthy.
A graduate of Butler High School, Todd worked at, and participated in, the programs at PARC.
Todd was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church. He loved his church and he loved his role as an altar server at the church.
Todd loved to watch sports, especially the Pittsburgh teams and the Dallas Cowboys. It gave him great pleasure to sit on the porch and listen to games. He also was a Special Olympics athlete.
He played the drums and he enjoyed country music and the music of the Backstreet Boys. He also liked to take pictures with his camera. He loved to travel - packing a suitcase, staying in hotels and visiting restaurants gave him great joy.
He is survived by four siblings, John McCarthy, of Butler, Monica A. Merinchuk and her husband, Eric, of Smithville, Ontario, Canada, Alan T. McCarthy and his wife, Maria, of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and Bonita McCarthy, of Sundre, Alberta, Canada; one nephew, Raymond McCarthy; one niece, Victoria McCarthy; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Keith T. McCarthy; his mother, Elizabeth Ann Toner McCarthy; and his stepmother, Mary Louise Lesney McCarthy, who essentially raised Todd and who was taken from us on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025 - less than 24 hours after Todd's passing.
MCCARTHY - Friends and family of Todd Thomas McCarthy, who died Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., with a Parastas at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 17, at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 21 Evergreen St., Lyndora, with Father Yurii Bobko officiating.
Burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Todd's memory to Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 21 Evergreen St. Lyndora, PA 16045.
