William Clowes Obituary

William A. Clowes
William "Bill" A. Clowes, 76, of Sharpsville died at 9 p.m. Monday surrounded by his family at UPMC Pittsburgh after an extended illness.
Born July 26, 1933, in Sarver, he was the son of William and Delvis Ann (Barnes) Clowes.
He was a graduate of Winfield Township Schools. He was a truck driver for Freeport Transport, and he previously worked for Countrybelle, Sells, Martin and Interstate Motor Freight for 16 years.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church of Sharon.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the American Legion in Sharpsville, the Shenango River Watchers, and delivered and helped in the kitchen for Meals on Wheels. He also enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Jean (Darling) Clowes, who he married Feb. 18, 1956; three sons, Edward A. Clowes and his fiancee, Trish Nardella, of Sharon, Donald E. Clowes and his wife, Jodi, of Youngstown, and James W. Clowes and his wife, Mary Burwell, of Hermitage; two sisters, Mrs. Eleanor and her husband Wayne Bowser of Oil City and Yvonne Christy of Lower Burrell; a brother, Richard A. Clowes of Sarver; six grandchildren, Cecilia Clowes, Kenneth Clowes, Corrine Kuzmanko, Nicholas Clowes, ElizaBeth Clowes and Tiffany Burwell; and two great-grandchildren, Ethan Ray and Bailey Holmes.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Clowes.
CLOWES - Friends of William "Bill" A. Clowes, who died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the John Flynn Funeral Home, 2630 E. State St., Hermitage.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ronald G. Hartman, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, Sharon, officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels.
