William Fillgrove Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William "Bill" Fillgrove, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend. Bill journeyed from this world on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the age of 82, in Lancaster, Pa.
Born May 12, 1943, in Sligo, Pa., he carved a life filled with love, adventure and unwavering dedication to his family.
A proud steel mill worker and Air Force veteran, Bill exemplified the virtues of hard work and perseverance throughout his years. Bill had a passion for the great outdoors, which was evident in his love for hunting and camping. He enjoyed spending his free time golfing and was an active member of his church.
Above all, his dedication to his family was unwavering; he was a constant presence at his children's and grandchildren's milestones, always there to lend support and share a laugh. Bill not only impacted those around him through his presence and actions, but also through his love of listening to loved ones and telling stories whenever given the chance.
Bill leaves behind his devoted spouse, Shirley Fillgrove; and his daughters, Deb Urban and Meghan Schnur (Bryan). He is also remembered by his grandchildren, Makenzie Fahnestock (Jake), Bryton Schnur, Marah Schnur, Joelle Buchter (Hector) and Reed Urban.
Bill was preceded in death by his doting parents, Dwight and Lois Fillgrove.

Bill was one of the cousins on my mother's side of the family. Had many fun times with him and two othe rmale cousins when we were growing up. Years later after we were both married, and with kids, we spent a lot of time with him and his family at Chincoteague. We went every year for decades and it was always a great trip, great memories. In other times during the year we would have dinner, taking turns at whose house it would be. Bill was a great guy, I think Heaven got an angel!
