Aimee Boatman Obituary

Aimee Elizabeth Boatman passed away after an extended illness Monday, July 10, 2006 while at home with family and friends by her side.Aimee was born on June 25, 1969, in Benton, Arkansas. She was a school teacher for nine years in the Gregory-Portland School District. She taught third and fourth grades and was involved in the reading recovery program for three years. It was a job she loved and missed doing, but continued to teach us about life even in her illness.Aimee is survived by her mother and father, Martha and Arlon Boatman, of Portland, Texas. An older brother John (Connie) Boatman of Conway, Arkansas, an older sister Lisa (Bruce) Larson of Austin, Texas and a younger brother Jeff (Kimberly) Boatman of Portland, Texas. Four nieces, Chloe, Claire, and Erica Larson, and Ana Boatman; two nephews, Wyatt Boatman and Jordan Boatman. Aimee is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Lois Compton of Benton, Arkansas, and her caregiver of the last four years, Mrs. Bea Perez of Portland, Texas.Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2006 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.The family requests donations be made to either Vista Care at 4320 SPID, Suite B, Corpus Christi, Texas, 78411, or Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Special Projects Fund, 1008 Austin, Portland, Texas 78374
