Annie Manzenberger Obituary

MANZENBERGER Annie (Myrt) L. Manzenberger (83), beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2011. She is survived by her son Lyle (Boogie) Manzenberger, his wife Anita, her daughter Janis Saari, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was succeeded in death by her granddaughter Heather Saari.She grew up in Odem Texas and moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1952 where she lived until her death.While raising her family, she began to paint. She was a member of the Black Range Artists, Inc. for many years, and was a prominent artist in the Mesilla Valley. She shared her love of painting by giving art classes at the Munson Senior Center for the past 20 years.After raising her family she became a registered nurse; working at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, as a home health care nurse in Truth or Consequences and for Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces. When she retired she devoted her time to the things she loved ' traveling, reading, quilting and her beloved art. She also volunteered at Casa de Peregrinos emergency food bank for several years.A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Munson Senior Center. In lieu of flowers her family asks that you honor Annie's love of books and reading by donating your favorite book to your local library. Arrangements by: Getz Funeral Home 1410 E.
