Eduardo Salazar Obituary

SALAZAR Eduardo Chapa Salazar, 84, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2011 of natural causes. He was born April 27, 1926, in Corpus Christi, Texas, the son of the late Anita and Jose Angel Salazar. He joins his siblings Joe, Efrian, Oscar, Elva, Estella and Alicia. On October 25, 1953, he married Esther Juarez, who survives him.He graduated from Corpus Christi High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and again during the Korean Conflict, where he received a Purple Heart for each campaign. After his discharge, he was employed by the Corpus Christi Army Depot as an aircraft mechanic for 25 years, retiring in 1987.He is survived by his son, Edward F. Salazar of Corpus Christi, Texas; son and daughter-in-law: Joe Mike and Hilima Salazar of Albuquerque, New Mexico; son and daughter-in-law: Rudy and Sharon Salazar of Plano, Texas and Ralph Salazar of Houston, Texas; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.A service will be held at Seaside Memorial Park, 4357 Ocean Dr. Corpus Christi, Texas Monday, February 14, 2011 at 3:00 p.m..
