Corpus Christi, TX

Ferdinand J. DuPont of Corpus Christi, entered into God's New Day on December 11, 2017, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's.

He was born January 14, 1933 in Jennings, LA, to Lucille LeJeune DuPont and Ferdinand J. DuPont. Following graduation from Jennings High School, he joined the U. S. Navy, where he served for 21 years. During that time, he attended LSU. Following his retirement from the Navy, he attended Del Mar College, where he earned an Associate's Degree in heating and air conditioning, where he taught as an adjunct professor for several years. He also spent some time working for the Nueces County Parks and Recreation Dept. and managed his own business, "Frenchy's Fixit".

Chief DuPont is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth, son John, daughter Kerry (Don) Pratt; grandson Charles Medina (Shayna Lottman); and 3 great grandchildren; his sister Ellen Overman of Manchester, TN and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Betty Crader and Joyce Stanley.
