Goldie Williams Obituary

Goldie Williams passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2003. She was born on April 10, 1920 in Robertson County, Tennessee to Clarence B. and Maggie Lee Hopkins Murphy. She moved to Corpus Christi in 1945. She married Alvin Dale Williams on October 18, 1952. She was preceded in death by her brothers J.C. Murphy, Josh Murphy and her sister Evelyn Womack. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Alvin Dale Williams of Corpus Christi, her children Richard (Cynthia) Cook of The Woodlands, Texas, Charles Williams of Angleton, Texas, and her daughter Barbara Williams of Corpus Christi. She is also survived by her sisters Marie Spurlock and Hilda Morris both from Nashville, Tennessee. Her survivors include seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers are Rick Armstrong, Bryan Williams, Randy Williams, Jon Kusenberger, Bill Cumberland, and Jerry Cumberland. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., on Friday, August 22, 2003 at Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2003 at Flour Bluff Baptist Church under the direction of Pastor Wes Hodges. Mrs. Williams will be in state for the public at the church from 12 Noon until the 1:00 p.m. service on Saturday. Entombment to follow immediately after the service at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
