James Eastwood Obituary

EASTWOOD James Franklin Eastwood, passed away at the age of 94 on Monday, June 1, 2009. He was born September 1, 1914 in Comanche, Texas to Lewis James and Charlotte Nancy Eastwood. James' father died before he was born and his mother remarried to John Henry Manges. James married the love of his life, Lorene Tharp, August 19, 1938 at the Old Courthouse in Corpus Christi, Texas. James retired from Reynolds Metals Company after thirty years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Oso Naval Lodge No. 1282 since 1954, was a Shriner since 1961, and was also a member of the Electrical Workers Union since 1941. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis James and Charlotte Eastwood; stepfather, John Henry Manges; brothers Jack, Don, and Chic Manges, and his sister, Christina Manges.Survivors include his wife, Lorena of seventy years; sons, James (Joan) Arthur Eastwood of Kerrville, Texas, Waukeen (the late Madelaine) Maxwell Eastwood of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughters, Mona (Larry) Lou Thomas of Katy, Texas, Elizabeth (Glenn known as Skip) Jane Bills of Corpus Christi, Texas; brother, Clinton Manges of Freer, Texas; sister, Dolly Fancher of Houston, Texas; ten grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2009 at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors, 4901 Everhart Road. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, June 6, 2009 also at Cage-Mills Funeral Directors with interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
