Jim Andrus Obituary

ANDRUS Victoria, TexasJim Andrus, 51, passed away September 2, 2009. Jim was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on December 29, 1957 to Peggy Andrus and Richard W. Andrus, Jr. He graduated from Richard King High School in 1976. He enjoyed a long professional career in the oil and gas industry in Corpus Christi and Victoria, and was retired from Halliburton. Jim was and avid sailor and loved the water. He loved animals and had many dogs and cats throughout his life. Jim appreciated good books and enjoyed watching movies with his family. Jim is predeceased by his mother, Peggy Andrus, and his mother-in-law Loretta Smith. Jim is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter Lauren Andrus (Chris); son, Paul Andrus (Christy); father, Richard Andrus, Jr., and father-in-law Buddy Smith. Other loved ones include his two sisters Nancy (Matt) Jacobs of Rockport, Texas and Jane Andrus of Rockport, Texas; two brothers John (Priscilla) Andrus of Austin, Texas and David Andrus of Corpus Christi, Texas; his stepsister Sarah Hunt of Portland, Texas; sisters-in-law Martha Barber (Phillip) of New Braunfels, Texas and Susan Sparks (Larry) of San Antonio, Texas; and his aunt Jean Carson of Corpus Christi, Texas. Jim also cherished his three grandchildren Riley, Catherine, and Alexis, as well as many nieces and nephews. The many friends he loved, and who cherished him, cannot be counted. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Adopt A Pet (www.adoptapetvictoria.com) in Victoria, Texas.Grace Funeral Home, Victoria, Texas 361-573-4341, in charge of arrangements.
