John Etheridge Obituary

John Morgan Etheridge was born February 13, 1923 to John Morgan Etheridge and Inez Pullen Etheridge in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Brakenridge High School and served in the navy aboard the USS Schroder during WWII. Married Frances Miller in 1946. He graduated from UT Austin and Southwestern Medical School. Dr. Etheridge practiced in Corpus Christi for over 40 years. He was involved in getting the Food Bank of Corpus Christi started, and the Cursillio Movement in the Episcopal Church. He was very active in the Episcopal Church at the local, diocesan and national level. Dr. Etheridge also helped developed Trinity Towers was the author of 3 books, a photographer, gardener and gourmet cook. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Frances Miller Etheridge; daughter, Jacki Walker; son-in-law Rocky Walker, daughter Patti Lloyd, son-in-law James Lloyd; granddaughters Elizabeth Lloyd, Katherine Lloyd, Claire Walker; step-grandchildren Chris Walker, Angela Murphy (Noel); great-granddaughter Arah Murphy and the Thursday Morning group that meets on Friday. The family would especially like to thank all the wonderful caregivers, Cathy Campbell RN, Holly Wilkinson, Belinda Lambert, Elizabeth Guel and all the therapists and staff at Trinity Towers. All who knew John Etheridge will miss his quick wit and generous sprit. he was well loved an he loved well. Service will be held Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Church of the Good Shepherd or charity of your choice.
