Jose Homero Leal Houston , TXJose Homero Leal, 76, of Houston, Texas, passed away on December 14, 2013. He was born on July 25, 1937 in Duval County, Texas to Carmen and Jesus Leal.Homer was funny, he loved to dance even though he could not hear or speak. As his family, we understood his homemade sign language and enjoyed many entertaining stories. We miss you very much and may you rest in peace.Homer was preceded in death by his parents; brother Raul Leal; his nephew James Cantu; and sister-in-law Connie Leal. He is survived by his brothers Humberto Leal and wife Maria of Mission, Texas, Jesse Leal of The Woodlands, Texas and Ronnie Leal and wife Cass of Missouri City, Texas; his sisters Olga Quiroga and husband Serafin of Beeville, Texas, Minerva Leal of Cypress, Texas, Anna Galan and husband Johnny of McAllen, Texas, Ruby Cantu and husband Xavier of Cypress, Texas, Ruth Cantu and husband Jimmy of Cypress, Texas and Irma Cedillo and husband Lawrence of Montgomery, Texas; and other numerous loving relatives and friends.A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Brookside Funeral Home Champions, 3410 FM 1960 West, Houston, TX 77068. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1217 Lipan Street, Corpus Christi, TX 78401. Rite of Committal will immediately follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Corpus Christi, TX.
