Jose Guerra Mendez passed away on December 12, 2018 at the age of 77. He was born in Rialitos, Texas on January 12, 1941. He will be dearly missed.
Jose was raised in Concepcion, Texas and a resident of Corpus Christi, Texas. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. Jose was employed for 20 years in the Corpus Christi Gas Department. He will be remembered for his love of ranching, being outdoors and being a hardworker.
He is preceded in death by his father, Eligio Mendez; siblings, Elma Garza, Jesus, Estella, Reyes, Domingo Mendez; aunt, Manuel Mendez.
Jose leaves his loving memories to his mother, Maria Elena Mendez; beloved wife, Margarita Mendez; daughter, Cynthia Gonzalez (Clemente); grandchildren, Jose Francisco, Adriana Isabela Gonzalez; brothers, Victor, Juan, Eligio, Robert, Leonel, Rick (Estella) Mendez; sisters, Maggie Salinas (Ike), Lolly Garza, Irma Licea (Kiko); numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 15, 2018 at Memory Gardens Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 16, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Interment to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
