June Middleton Obituary

MIDDLETON June Llanelle Jeffers Middleton, 86, died June 4th in Loveland, Colorado. She was born to Cedric and Linda (Smallwood) Jeffers in Hubbard City, Texas on March 10, 1924. June graduated from Temple High School, Temple, Texas and attended Southwestern University, Georgetown, Texas where she received her BS in Biology/Chemistry in 1944. She married Edward D. Middleton, Jr., on March 26, 1959 in Austin, Texas. June was a Professional Medical Technologist, ASCP Board Certified in Hematotechnology & Cytotechnology. She worked for Scott & White Memorial Hospital, Temple, Texas for 15 years, Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, 1966 ' 1971 and Dow Chemical (Cytotechnologist & Researcher), Lake Jackson, Texas, 1971 ' 1975. She was a life-time member of the United Methodist Church, 50 year member American Society of Clinical Pathology and Phi Mu Fraternity. June was an artist and painter, musician and scholar of Old English Literature. 'June was a devoted and loving mother of three, grandmother of five, mother-in-law, wife and daughter. A proud, native Texan, June was one of the smartest people you will ever meet. She was a lover of life, her family and never met a stranger. Mother was a very thoughtful, positive and spiritual influence on all who knew and loved her'. Survivors; Sons, John Jeffers Middleton, New Braunfels, Texas, Scott Jeffers Middleton, Loveland, Colorado; Daughter, Lin Middleton (Steven Paul) Weiss, Houston, Texas; Grandchildren, Jeff Middleton, San Antonio, Texas, Laurel Megan Middleton, Loveland, Colorado, Wesley Edward Weiss, Houston, Texas, Austin Miles Middleton, Loveland, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward D. Middleton, Jr., 1995, and her parents. Graveside Service, 11:30 a.m., Monday, June 14th, Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, Texas. Contributions, the Methodist Children's Home, 1111 Herring Ave., Waco, Texas 76708. M. P. Murphy & Associates Funeral Directors of Boulder is handling arrangements.
