Margaret Jennings Kaylor, 80, went to be with our Lord and Savior on June 29, 2007. She was born on July 28, 1926 in Kingsport, Tennessee to Midas and Emma Jennings. She was raised and lived in Clinchport, Virginia until she met her childhood sweetheart, James E. Kaylor and they married on June 17, 1943. They traveled with the Army to various duty stations in Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Massachusetts before their last duty station at N.A.S. Corpus Christi, Texas in 1963. She was a beloved wife, mother, aunt, sister, Mamaw, and Grandma. She was a member of Caribbean Baptist Church and past member of the Army Wives Club, Coastal A’s and Rods Club and Community Bible Study. Being a military wife, she was always actively involved in the base chapels wherever her husband was stationed, volunteering as Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school worker, and her children’s school activities. She retired from Flour Bluff Independent School District in 1985 after serving 16 years as Food Service Coordinator. She enjoyed quilting, canning, cooking, and gardening, but most of all, loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was preceded in death by her father, Midas Jennings; her mother, Emma Honeycutt; and sister, Juanita Conner. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, James E. Kaylor of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughters, Sandra (James) Ulbrich, Nancy (Robert) Harrison; son, Jimmy (Lynn) Kaylor all of Corpus Christi, Texas; and sons, Jeff (Tammy) Kaylor of Romeoville, Illinois and Bradley (Allison) Kaylor of Austin, Texas; one brother, Fred (Charlene) Jennings of Kingsport, Tennessee; one sister, Mary (Oakley) McDavid of Clinchport, Virginia; grandchildren, Trey Burgess, Debby Cox, Shea Hernandez, Stephen Ulbrich, Tammy Kaylor, Travis Kaylor, Aaron Kaylor, James Kaylor, Devin Kaylor, Marc Kaylor, Stephanie Kaylor; and great grandchildren, Kaedynn Ulbrich and Grayson Cox. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Viewing will be on Monday, July 2, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Seaside Funeral Home and on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital, Driscoll Children’s Hospital, or a
charity of your choice. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to those surrounding her during her last days and especially to the staff and caregivers at the Heart Hospital ICU, Dr. John Carmichael and his staff, and Pastor Larry Freeman.
