Maria ElizondoCorpus Christi, TXMaria Lorenza Naranjo Elizondo, age 64, passed away on December 27, 2015, in Corpus Christi, Texas.Maria was born on September 5, 1951, to Hilarion and Juanita Naranjo. Maria will always be remembered for her generous nature, love of family, devotion to her children and grandchildren and her accepting heart. Maria had a great love of life and enjoyed listening to all kinds of music, sewing, making arts and crafts, especially with her grandchildren and finding treasures at thrift stores. Maria will most be remembered for her acceptance of others without ever being judgmental or unkind. Maria never met a stranger and was loved by many. All her children and grandchildren's friends called her mom or grandma because she always welcomed them into her home. Maria was extremely generous, a good cook, loved animals and nature, was a world class hugger. She was intelligent and curious about life and the universe, loved playing games and learning new things. Maria will be deeply missed by her family and will become their angel watching over them until they meet again. Maria is preceded in death by her loving father, Hilarion Naranjo Sr., and her beloved sister, Juanita Gloria Naranjo. Maria is survived by her mother, Juanita Ybarra Naranjo, her four children, daughter, Ana Elizondo, grandchildren Mia and Olivia, her son, Israel 'Gordo' Elizondo and wife Margot, his children, Bella, Petey and Jacob and stepson Joshua, daughter, Jennifer Holmes, her husband Andy; granddaughter, Miranda Rose and her father David and grandson, Nathaniel, Maria's youngest daughter, Monica Elizondo; 10 brothers and sisters to cherish her memory, Candido (Terry) Naranjo, Hilarion(Sylvia) Naranjo, Raymond(Virginia) Naranjo, Steven(Rosie) Naranjo, Domingo(Sylvia) Naranjo, Simon Naranjo and Ray Naranjo, Patsy (Andrew) Rodarte, Irma(Richard) Cano, and Judy(John) Edwards and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A rosary will be held at Corpus Christi Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2016. Immediately following the rosary, a celebration of her life will be held with family and friends.
