Melanie Young Obituary

YOUNG Melanie Jean Young, 39, passed as away Saturday, February 28, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 20, 1970, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Robert and Patsy Smith. She was employed by Jennings & Company for 11 years. She was an avid Hooks and Astros fan and enjoyed all sports, especially those her son was active in. Melanie was a loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. Melanie is survived by her parents: Robert and Patsy Smith; son, Robert Drake Young and sisters: Tammy (Tino) Gutierrez, Linda Jones, all of Corpus Christi, Texas, and April (David) Disisto, of Lake Jackson, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Monday, March 2, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Services will be Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at 2:00 p.m., at Memory Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family would like to express their appreciation for the care and kindness given to Melanie by Vista Care Hospice.
