Corpus Christi, TX
Pertrice M. Worley, 69, was born on June 29, 1947, to P.C. Worley M.D. and Syble Harris Worley in Shreveport, Louisiana where she was raised and graduated from C.E. Byrd High school in 1965.
She graduated from LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 1969. She will receive her 50 year Golden Arrow with Pi Beta Phi posthumously in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Houston and Tyler, Texas.
Pertrice M. Worley passed away following complications from elective surgery on October 13, 2016, at Doctors Regional Medical Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. Pertrice will be deeply missed by many loving friends and relatives who delighted in her marvelous storytelling and rich sense of humor. She had the innate ability to transform an ordinary story into an extraordinary one. Pertrice had a unique zest for life and a fond, caring manner with many friends from all walks of life, who normally would not mix. We sometimes thought she could turn the meticulous into the ridiculous, as she would tend to her daily regimens. She lived a life "well lived." Although a private person, she enjoyed socializing with her card playing girlfriends and friends who shared her Spiritual Way of Life.
Pertrice was truly happy and content sharing fishing adventures and living a "perpetual vacation" with her loving husband Dr. Jim in their condo on Padre Island in Corpus Christi.
She loved to "catch and release" as well as enjoy "the big ones" in the pan straight out of the water. If you stood for any length of time in the checkout line, you would think she was your best friend forever. Pertrice was sweet and kind and had a unique outward and inward beauty. Truly an original! She was a gentle magnolia from the Old School. Pertrice could cut those baby blue eyes to the side and you would know exactly what she was thinking without her saying a word.
Pertrice is survived by her husband, James H. Demberg MD. of Corpus Christi, Texas, daughter, Shandice Gonzalez of Dallas, Texas, grandchild, Leal Gonzalez of Waxahachie, Texas, and a small extended family of various relatives and in-laws. Special friends, Linda Bayer and Don Johnson of Rockport, Texas, Karen Baker of Padre Island, Texas, and a lifelong bond with Susan Broyles of Shreveport, Louisiana unbroken for 65 years.
A celebration of her Spiritual Way of Life will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 3026 S. Staples St., Corpus Christi, TX., on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at 2:00 p.m.
A Graveside Service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 6, 2016 at The Rockport Historical Cemetery 2040 Tule Park Drive, Rockport, TX 78382 conducted by Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Services and Pastor Jim Hoffman presiding.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity that best reflects her enduring Spiritual Way of Life since March 27, 1981.

You were always a first class, warm and caring person. I feel blessed that you were a true friend. My thoughts and prayers as Jim and so many will miss you. We share with Jim the certainty that we will meet again, at the time and place that the Creator chooses. God Bless and thank you for such an exemplary example that you showed to us.
