Phil McCool Obituary

Phil A. McCool, Jr., 79, of Robstown, Texas, passed away Monday, July 10, 2006. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.Phil was a graduate of Texas A&M University, immediately after graduation went to work for George A. Hormel & Co., and worked there until he retired. Phil married Jo Ellen Wigington McCool on December 1, 1951, and they resided in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was a 50 year member of the Southside Lions Club.He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ellen McCool and his grandson, Chase Nicholas McCool.He is survived by his three children, Philip Alexander "Rip" McCool, III, Mary Catherine "Cathy" McCool and James Norris "Corky" McCool; his grandchildren, Brandi McIver, Cowboy McCool, April McCool, Michael Patrick McCool and Jennifer Dixon; two great grandchildren.Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday in Sawyer-George Funeral Home.Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 13, 2006 in Sawyer-George Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ross Dudney officiating. Burial will follow in Robstown Memorial Park.Pallbearers will be members of the Southside Lions Club.In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make contributions to the Lions Eye Bank of South Texas, in care of James McRae, Secretary of the Southside Lions Club, 4041 Killarmet, Corpus Christi, Texas 78413.
