Pauline 'Polly' Kins EttelmanCorpus Christi, TXPauline 'Polly' Kins Ettelman died in Dallas, July 10, 2016. Polly was born in Corpus Christi, on October 15, 1942, to Jack and Zelma 'Sweetie' Solinger Kins, and lived there until she moved to Dallas in 2010.Polly married the love of her life, Raymond Ettelman (deceased March 1, 2016) on March 6, 1965, in Corpus Christi, and they had two wonderful children, Holli and David.Polly graduated W. B. Ray High School and attended Stephens College in Columbia, MO. She completed her college education in 1994, with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. She was a very creative person with many interests ' music, china painting, art (excelling in portraits), Mah Jongg, working jigsaw puzzles, and handwork. Her interests and creativity led her to be an excellent teacher of four-year olds at the Jewish Community Council Pre-School in Corpus Christi. She began her teaching career as an assistant in the kindergarten class and retired in 2003, after teaching one of the four-year old classes for ten years.Polly was an active member of Temple Beth El in Corpus Christi almost her entire life, and taught in the Religious School for many years. She was a member of Temple Beth El Sisterhood, including the Catering Committee, and served as President of Sisterhood in 1982. She said that 'each milestone in my life has included Temple Beth El'.For seventeen years, Polly was the bookkeeper for Ettelman's Discontinued China and Crystal, a business begun by her parents-in-law in Kilgore, Texas. She and her husband, Raymond, and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Davie Lou and Jack Solka, operated the business when it was moved to Corpus Christi on the deaths of Dora and Eddie Ettelman.Polly is survived by her children, Holli and Scott Baum and David Ettelman, and her granddaughters, Emily and Ashley Baum, all of Dallas. She is also survived by her brother, Sammy Kins and his wife, Carol, of Corpus Christi; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Davie Lou and Jack Solka of Austin; four nephews and their spouses, Michael and Liz Solka of Austin; Steven and Andrea Solka of Coppell; Gary and Shelley Solka of Austin; Jack and Leigh Kins of Houston; one niece and her husband, Jamie and Kenny Rosenblood of Los Angeles; seven great-nephews, Brian Solka of Dallas; Kevin Solka of Austin; Matthew and Drew Solka of Coppell; Jackson and Dylan Kins of Houston; Robbie Rosenblood of Los Angeles; three great nieces, Erin and Paige Solka of Austin; and Sarah Rosenblood of Los Angeles; many first cousins and their families and numerous friends.Services will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at 1:00 PM in the chapel at Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi.
