Richard Glenn TillerGonzales, TXRichard Glenn Tiller passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014 at Metropolitan Methodist in San Antonio. He was born on May 7, 1960 in Alice, Texas. He graduated from Alice High School in 1978 and then from Texas A & M University, Class of 1982 with a B.A. degree. He began flying with the family helicopter business at the age of 16 and flew for many years working on ranches throughout South Texas. Although he would be the last to admit it, he was a well- respected leader of his community. His warm, radiant personality was the driving force behind the success of Belle Oaks Inn in Gonzales, Texas.He was preceded in death by his grandparents W.C. and Deana Tiller, and Travis and Bonnie Richardson. He is survived by his parents W.J. and Martha Tiller of Alice, Texas, his brothers Jim (Linda) of Woodsboro, Lee (Lynette) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Travis (Judy) of Alice, Texas, and his partner Clint Hille of Gonzales, Texas. One uncle, David (Martha) Tiller of Dallas, Texas, aunts Dorothy Richardson of San Antonio, Texas, and Jackie Richardson of Alice, Texas. Richard is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 27 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Holmgreen Mortuary with the family present. Services will be at the First United Methodist Church at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014 in Alice, Texas with burial to follow at the Alice Cemetery.A Memorial Service will also be held in Gonzales, TX on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church.Pallbearers are J.C. Tiller, Will Tiller, Christopher Tiller, Tyne Tiller, Brian Tiller and Justin Blair. Honorary pallbearers are Tristan Moore, Hunter Moore and Sam Kimmel.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church Endowment Fund of Alice, Texas or the Gonzales Historical Homes Association.
