Robert Kelley Obituary

Robert Alvin Kelleynew braunfels, TXRobert Alvin Kelley was born on November 7, 1942, and passed away on September 3, 2016. Robert, the son of Alvin and Anne Kelley grew up in Dallas, Texas. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in 1962 and earned a degree from the University of Texas in Arlington. Robert was a natural born salesman and a people's person, which served him well as the owner of a corporate recognition company. He was well respected by his peers and colleagues. Robert was an avid sailor and had a great love for the outdoors. He loved spending time with his family on the Guadalupe River or in the mountains of Ruidoso, New Mexico. Robert was an adored son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. His kind and gentle nature will live on long after his passing. The memories he leaves behind will have profound and lasting footprints in our lives and on the sands of time. Robert is preceded in death by his mother and father Anne and Alvin Kelley of Dallas, and his wife, Sandra Connell Kelley of New Braunfels. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Marjorie Durkin Kelley of New Braunfels, his loving son, Robert Alvin Kelley II and his wife, Debbi Hill Kelley, their children: Carolina Carr Kelley and Eliza Alabama Kelley all of Corpus Christi; his stepson Patrick Durkin and his wife Jamie Durkin; their children Joseph Durkin and Fiona Durkin all of New Braunfels, his stepdaughter, Ashley Tyler and her husband, Chris Betjemann of Biddeford, Maine, his sister, Beverly Kelley Thomas and husband Cordell of Kansas City, Missouri and brother, John Kelley of Farmersville.A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at St. John's Methodist Church 5300 South Alameda Street, Corpus Christi, Texas 78412.
