Walter Rhodes Obituary

Walter Clyde Rhodes Jr.Rockport, TXWalter Clyde Rhodes Jr., age 92, of Rockport, Texas, passed away May 6, 2016 at his residence. He was born July 20, 1923, in Houston, Texas to Walter Clyde Rhodes Sr. and Hazel Cooke Rhodes. He served his country in the US Army during WW II at the 97th Evacuation Hospital. In 1947 he established Rhodes Funeral Home in Karnes City and Runge Texas where his family continues to operate the business. Clyde is survived by his son W.C. 'Dusty' Rhodes III and his wife Darlene; daughters Diane Seaman and husband Dave and daughter Dawn Shockome; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; and wife Dorothy Mae'Dotti' Rhodes. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, Monday, May 9, 2016 at Sacred Heart Church in Rockport followed by a funeral mass at 10 AM. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM, on Monday May 9, 2016, at the Karnes City Cemetery, Karnes City, Texas. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rockport, Texas or The Michael J. Fox Foundation at www.michaeljfox.org. Funeral services are entrusted to Rhodes Funeral Home, Inc. of Karnes City.
