William Powers Obituary

William Neal Powers III passed away January 2, 2005.He was born December 17, 1941 in Austin, Texas. He attended Lamar High School in Houston, Texas. He received a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin and a JD from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law and was a member of the State Bar Association.Neal was employed by the Austin National Bank, 1963-1974; The UT Law School Foundation 1975-1978; Texas Commerce Bank - Brownsville 1978-1980; and by Texas Commerce Bank/Frost Bank of Corpus Christi 1980-2001, retiring as Executive Vice President of the Financial Management Group.He is survived by his wife, Patricia Frick Powers of Corpus Christi, his parents, Kathryn Heep Powers and William Neal Powers, Jr. of Austin, sisters Kathy Buffinton of Austin, Penny (Bob) Pattee of Averill Park, New York and numerous nieces and nephews.There will be no local services. A private memorial service is planned for a later date in Austin, Texas.Memorials in Neal's name may be made to the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center of Port Aransas, City of Port Aransas, 710 W. Avenue A, Port Aransas, Texas 78373 or to a charity of your choice.
