William Tatro Obituary

William Robert Tatro passed away on November 21, 2004 at his home in Aransas Pass, Texas. Bill was born on February 11, 1932, in Zenda, Kansas, to Lewis and Marty Ehtel Tatro. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, JoAnn, his parents, and one brother, Clem Tatro.Bill was baptized on March 21, 1948, at the Zenda Methodist church in Zenda, Kansas, After graduating from Zenda High School in 1950, Bill volunteered and served in the United States Navy. Upon leaving the military service Bill worked and supported his family in many different areas of oilfield work such as mechanic, machinist, and metal fabrication. In 1974, he moved his wife and family to Aransas Pass, Texas, where they resided for 30 years. Bill was a member of the Moose Lodge in Aransas Pass, Texas. During his residency in Aransas Pass, Texas, Bill gave freely of his time and himself to many people as a wise and understanding sponsor, mentor and friend.Bill is survived by three brothers, Frank Tatro of Port Aransas, Texas, Ed Tatro (Mary) of Pratt, Kansas, Richard Tatro of Pratt, Kansas, and two sisters, Louise Gould of Enid, Oklahoma and Reatha Clark (Walt) of Pratt, Kansas. He is also survived by his five children, Diana Lynn Taft of Kansas City, Missourri, Dana Perryman of Kansas City, Missourri, Rita Robin Tatro of Branson, Missourri, Craig and Kelly Tatro of Oklahoma, and Heide Jill Drakus (Nick) of Florida, 21 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.A Memorial Service celebrating and honoring Bill Tatro's life will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas.In lieu of flowers, it was Bill's sincere desire that donations be made in his memory to Vista Care Hospice, 5656 S. Staples, Suite 351, Corpus Christi, Texass, 78411.
