John Kestenbaum Obituary

Mr. John Louis Kestenbaum, 65, of Austin, passed away Friday, Oct. 16, 2020.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, Oct. 24, in Corinth Cemetery, near Buckholts, filled with remembrances and memories of friends and family.

John was born Sept. 20, 1955, in Cameron, to Dana Isaac and Cornelia Beatrice (Walschak) Kestenbaum. He was a 1973 graduate of C. H. Yoe High School, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from The University of Texas in Austin. John was a member of the National Mensa Honor Society. He was a political researcher and spent a portion of his career doing research for former White House Chief of Staff Karl Rove. He also worked security for The University of Texas Athletics.  John was an avid sports fan and was an excellent athlete in his own right.

He is survived by four sisters, Mary Kestenbaum of Edmonds, Wash., Betty Perrin of Eugene, Ore., Margaret Green of Buckholts, and Kitty Kestenbaum of Austin.

His parents, Dana and Bea Kestenbaum, preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Milam Touch of Love c/o Milam County Animal Welfare Resources, 1200 E. Gillis, Cameron, TX 76520; Corinth Cemetery Association, c/o Margaret Green, 2227 S FM 1915, Buckholts, TX, 76518; or Cameron Public Library, 304 E. 3rd St., Cameron, TX  76520
