Kathryn Grisham Obituary
She was born on Oct. 30, 1939, to Hubert Lee and Myrtis Lee (Bounds) Jackson in Pasadena. She moved to Rockdale when she was in the third grade then to Thorndale also while in elementary school. In 1954, she married Darnell Pinkerton in Salty.
Kathryn was primarily a homemaker and she also worked at C.A. Forbes, Carol's, and for the State of Texas. Kathryn's greatest joy was taking care of her family whom she loved very deeply. She especially enjoyed the large family gatherings and holidays. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Thorndale.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Darnell Pinkerton; former husband, Lester Grisham; her parents; brothers and sisters, Gail Spates, Daryl Jackson, Renee Mitchell and Lynn Jackson; and grandson, Kevin Caffey.
She is survived by her brother, Dwayne Jackson; and children, Denece Rhines and husband Glenn of Hutto, Nell Caffey of Thorndale, Donna Swenson of Belton, Charlie E. Grisham and wife Jan of Thorndale, Wesley L. Grisham and wife Denise of Thrall.
She was blessed with fifteen grandchildren and their spouses, Melissa Perlinger (Stacy); Alisha Nicole Rogers (Rob), Laura Hines; Todd Rhines (Shauna); Jason Rhines (Jennifer); Randi Scruggs (Brandon); Amanda Scruggs (Steven); Keith Caffey (Amanda); Kayla Longoria (John); Scott Holder (Kim); Miles Grisham (Victoria); Lauren Lovelace (Logan); Morgan Grisham; Shelby Grisham; Ryan Grisham. Also, great grandchildren Pearce, Presley, Parker, and Paityn Perlinger; Michael Charske, Jacob Rogers; Austin and Logan Rhines; Taylor and Caleb Rhines; Caden Huckaby; Cohen Archer, Liam and Trinity Parker, Elliana (Ellie) Longoria, Savannah and Saylor Grisham, Kamryn, Kyler, Hadley, and Nathan Holder.
A viewing will be held Friday, July 31, from 5:30-8 p.m., at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
The funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 1, at 10 a.m. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home with Pastor Adam Lake officiating. Burial will be at the Salty Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Stacy Perlinger, Pearce Perlinger, Michael Charske, Keith Caffey, Caden Huckaby, Miles Grisham, Ryan Grisham and Scott Holder.
