Clayton Speer

1989 - 2021

Clayton Speer, our amazing son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle, friend, left us suddenly on June 3, 2021. Clayton was born in Canon City, Colorado on August 30, 1989, and lived in Penrose. He graduated from Garden Park High School and earned his Associates degree at Pueblo Community College. Clayton was an avid snowboarder who loved nature and being outdoors. He worked in local restaurants, grocery stores, and landscaping, and gave snowboarding lessons at Monarch for a few seasons. He could always quote movies and song lyrics and debate philosophy, and you could talk to him for hours about anything and everything. An old, deep, kind, struggling soul, our Clayton is survived by his loyal dog Peanut Butter, parents Lillian Velasco, Ronald W. Speer, Justina Carter, Steve Osborn, brothers Jacob Speer, Alex (Jessica) Carter, Tyler Carter, Zachary Carter, grandparents Pat Kerr, Jim and Joyce McCright, Ron and Ann Speer, aunts and uncles Charlene McCright and Buck Vrazel, Brian Speer, Beth and Steve Roark, Scott and Lori Speer, Michael and Kathy Kerr, Julie and John Beauford, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A funeral service is scheduled for 11 AM on June 26, 2021 at the Florence Mortuary.
