Robert "Bob" Dolven

1934 - 2021

Robert "Bob" Dolven was born on May 14, 1934 to Walter and Louise (Gannoway) Dolven in Wolf Point, Montana. At an early age, along with his sister Donna and brother Wayne, the family moved to San Diego, CA where his father worked in a defense plant throughout the war. After the war they moved to Canon City. His father owned and operated a Gambles store and eventually opened Dolven Motor Supply. Bob attended school in Canon City and Western State College in Gunnison, CO. During this time in Gunnison he met and married Beverly June Henline. They made their home in Canon City and had two children, Mitchell Kent and Lori Lynn. Bob and his brother Wayne took over the family business and operated Dolven Motor Supply for many years. In 1980 Bob married his wife of 40 years, D'Ann Loflin. They purchased property on Eight Mile Hill and had the time of their lives exploring the Hill on their horses, helping friends at Stirrup Ranch round-up cattle and playing golf every change they got. After retirement, Bob and D'Ann spent their winter months in Zapata, TX and Green Valley, AZ making wonderful friendships along the way. Bob is survived by his wife, D'Ann, brother and sister-in law, Wayne and Linda Dolven, daughter and son-in-law, Lori and George ("his best friend and hero") Meffley, step children, Donnell, Kris, Gina and Chuck. He was so proud of his numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren and will be missed by all. A host of good friends, neices & nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his son Mitchell Dolven, parents and sister. Thank you Bob, Dad, Pa for sharing your love, wonderful sense of humor, kindness, faith and integrity with us while you were in this world. We are all better for knowing you.
