Ursula Shockley Obituary

Ursula Marguerite (Maggie) Shockley of Canon City, Colorado (formerly of Colorado Springs, CO) was released from her valiant, three-year battle against cancer on April 2, 2021, and lifted to Heaven and Eternal Life, by her faith in Jesus Christ. She was born September 12, 1953, in San Antonio, TX; graduated from Wasson High School in 1971. She was the daughter of Colonel (USA Ret) James W. and Ursula Shockley, both deceased, who were long-time residents of Colorado Springs, CO. She is survived by her two sons, Edward Justin and Zachariah James Crofoot, of Colorado Springs, CO and Santa Barbara, CA, respectively: and her brother, James W. Shockley, Jr., of West Palm Beach, FL. She endured many trials in her later life, but triumphantly graduated from New Creations Inn, becoming a born-again, devout Christian. She remained a member of the nearby Evangelical Free Church in Canon City. Her faith brought her comfort in the last twelve years of her life. During her younger life, she worked in numerous positions in the Food Service Industry; later studied and received her Certified Nurse Assistant credential, and cared for elderly patients in TX, MO and CO. Maggie was known and loved by her neighbors, friends and all the people she came in contact with during her 15 years as a Canon City, CO resident. She was a respected member of the community and friend and companion to those in need. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the American Cancer Society.
