Arthur J. Murrey

100, passed away unexpectedly on July 7, 2021. He was born in Sarahsville on March 3, 1921 to William and Ethel (Miller) Murrey. Arthur volunteered for the Conservation Corp and then was drafted in to the Army during World War II, where he served in the 8th Army Air Corps. He flew over 25 missions over Germany including the first day light raid on Berlin. He returned home and worked for Timken Company retiring in 1983. He was a member of Clinton Lodge #47, Massillon and Trinity United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of almost 79 years, Ruth (Rossiter) Murrey; and a son, Donald Murrey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth, Vera and Lona.

A graveside service will be held in Village View Cemetery, Sarahsville on July 19, 2021 at 10:30 am.

The family ask that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at: www.paquelet.com

I am sorry to hear of Mr. Murrey's death. He had a long and well-lived life and was a thoughtful neighbor. He will be missed. My sympathy to Ruth and the family and my thanks for his service to his country in WWII.
