Betty Mawk Obituary
age 92, of Canton, Ohio passed away on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011. She was born on May 11, 1919 to the late Thomas and Mary Steen in Wheeling, West Virginia. Betty worked as a secretary for Renner Plumbing for 10 years. She was a proud member of Canton Baptist Temple, Ambassador Class, Widows and Widowers Class, Red Hat Ladies and Forever Young. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Mawk; daughter, Shirley Springer; two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Curry of Canton, Ohio; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren and a sister, Lois Hoffman of Florida. The family would like to give a special thank you to The Laurels of Massillon for their exceptional care and support.
A memorial service will be held at The Canton Baptist Temple on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to The Canton Baptist Temple Sharing & Caring Program (515 Whipple Ave NW, Canton, OH 44708). Sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother. I only knew her a short time and that was from sitting with her in church in the middle row, the fifth pew. She will be missed.
