CYNTHIA BENNETT Obituary
Age 61, of Grand Junction, Colo., passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018. Cindy was born March 2, 1957, in Canton. She graduated from Perry High School in 1975. Cindy worked as an optician with her husband at their private practice. She enjoyed spending time with her dog Iris. She was also actively involved in the Dog Ears Reading Program at the Mesa County Library and The Rotary Club of Grand Junction.
Cindy is survived by her husband, James Bennett of Grand Junction, Colo.; father, Thomas Lab of Kimbolton; children: Thomas (Katie) Shimek of Massillon and Christine (Steven) Ray of Massillon; grandchildren: Hunter and Grace Shimek of Massillon, and Emmitt Ray of Massillon. Cindy is preceded in death by her mother, Lynne Lab.
A memorial mass will be held Friday, June 1, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Msgr. Frank A. Carfagna as celebrant. Friends may call one half hour prior to the mass in the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mesa County Libraries Foundation - Dog Ears Program - 443 N. 6th Street, Grand Junction, Co 81501 or https://mesacountylibraries.org/aboutus/supportus/foundation/.
