David Essig Obituary

David D. Essig
David D. Essig, age 63, of Waynesburg, passed away suddenly Monday morning in Aultman Hospital. He was born in Canton, a son of the late Logan and Hazel McCrady Essig, and was a life resident of the Waynesburg area. Dave retired in 1994 from Superior Dairy, after 27 1/2 years service, where he was a cheese maker. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Essig, one niece and two nephews. Survived by his wife, Cathy L. Essig, with whom he celebrated their 41st Wedding Anniversary on Feb. 19th; two daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and Michael Reed, of Dellroy, and Vicky and Aaron Saurer, of East Canton; one son, Michael Essig, and his girl friend, Tara Carson, of Magnolia; eight grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Clara and Bill Beck, of Canton; a very close sister-in-law, Mary Green, of Mineral City; a special brother-in-law, Gary Kale, of Magnolia; his beloved dog, Goober; and his coffee drinking buddies at McDonalds in Waynesburg. Services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the Finefrock-Gordon Funeral Home in Magnolia with Rev. Peggy Garner officiating. Friends may call Thursday 7-9 p.m. A private interment will be held for the family.

I remember when David was a young teenager and rode throughout the neighborhood on his scooter. We kids (Kale, Dierick & Martin Williams)used to have good times together & remember it all with fondness.
