David Smethers Obituary
age 77, of Carrollton, passed away Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015 at Aultman Hospital. He was born Nov. 16, 1937 in Canton, Ohio to Alvin and Emma (Lowe) Smethers. David graduated from Mc Kinley High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked for 38 years in Canton for the Winters Foundry. He also worked at the Carrollton N.A.P.A. for 10 years. David attended the Carrollton Assembly of God. He loved Christian music and was a student of Bible History and Bible prophercy.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jeri Lynne (Beaumont) Smethers whom he married Feb. 22, 1972. A son, Jake (Christin) Smethers of Rootstown,Ohio; two stepsons, Denny Wiseman of Ashburn, Va. and Glen Wiseman of Romney, W.Va.; three stepdaughters, Cathy Lerario of Sterling, Va., Nancy (Craig) Hicks of Fredericksburg, Va. and Joan Wiseman of Haymark, Va.; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers .
Calling hours for David will be Thursday, Sept. 10, 2015 at the Allmon Dugger Cotton Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.. The Memorial Service for David will be Friday, Sept. 11, 2015 at the Carrollton Assembly of God 400 Steubenville Road, Carrollton, Ohio at 7 p.m.. with Pastor Kerry Green officiating. Military services will be held by the D.A.V, V.F.W and the American Legion. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Carrollton Assembly of God.
