Age 22, of Canton
died unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 27, 2009. He was born on March 9, 1987, in Massillon, to Debra Ruffin and Titus Gomez. DeAndre was a 2005 graduate of Perry High School. He was always very active and enjoyed sports. DeAndre enjoyed spending time with his family and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents; and uncle, Robert Earl Williams. DeAndre is survived by his mother, Debra Ruffin of Greenville, AL; father, Titus Gomez of Akron; sister, Tenasha Ruffin of Greenville, AL; brother, Malik Ruffin of Canton; grandmother, Mary Ruffin of Massillon; grandfather, Willy Baugh of Tuscaloosa, AL; aunts and uncles and several cousins; and special friend, Michela Murray. A funeral service will be held for DeAndre and his cousin, Jonathon Pierce, on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 11am in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church (27 4th St. N.E., Massillon, OH 44646) with Pastor Joseph Harkless and Bishop Jeff Caldwell co-officiating. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 9am-11am in the church. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pierce and Ruffin Benevolent Fund at any First Merit Bank location or to Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel to defray funeral expenses. i graduated a year before DeAndre and i only knew him a little but what i did know was that he was the sweetest person i have ever met. it's a shame that something this tragic happened to such a sweet person.
