Fern Haley Obituary
'Together Again'
Fern L. Haley
age 91, of Massillon died Monday at Affinity Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Dodd, Ind. April 30, 1918 daughter to the late George B. and Letitia (Hardesty) Weatherholt. Fern retired as a psychiatric nursing assistant at the former Massillon State Hospital and was a member of First Baptist Church. An avid quilter, she had a passion for needlework and crocheting. Fern loved working in her garden and tending to her flowers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen P. Haley in 1993; and two sisters, Eloise James and Virginia Shepard. Fern is survived by her children, Linda (John) Henzel and Derrell R. (Cindy) Haley both of Massillon; four grandsons, Dr. Craig (Dawn) Henzel, Dr. Kevin (Julie) Henzel, Dustin Haley and Erin Davis, and Nate (Nikki) Haley; three great-grandchildren, Chase and Alyssa Henzel and Gavin Haley; two sisters, Grace Bille of Navarre and Joanne (Dr. Thomas) Kring of Massillon; and a brother, George Weatherbolt, Jr. of California.
Visitation is Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Atkinson Feucht Hare Funeral Home in Massillon. Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial is in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Contributions are suggested to any favorite charity. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Altercare of Navarre for their loving care and likewise to 2200 Division of Affinity Medical Center. Derrell & Linda, I was sorry to hear about your Mom. Her and I always had a good time traveling back and forth to Indiana. I'm sorry that I can't be there with you but I am in Indiana with my folks, who send their love. We'll be thinking about you.
