Florence Brogan Obituary

Florence A. Kline Brogan
99, of Alliance, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Community Care Center in Alliance. Florence was born in Welshfield, Ohio on April 7, 1911 the daughter of the late Olen E. and Cora E. (Mathias) Shanower. Mrs. Brogan worked for the J.C. Penney store in Alliance for 11 years; and she was a member of the Marlboro Christian Church.
Survivors include her two daughters; Betty A. Bloss of Wadsworth, Carolyn A. Kerr of Alliance; two sons Robert A. (Shirley) Kline, Donald E. (Judith) Kline both of Alliance, ten grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; three stepsons; Larry R. (Mary) Brogan of Texas, Ronald R. (Cathy) Brogan of Alliance, Robert L. (Pat) Brogan of Beloit; and several step grandchildren. She is also survived by five sisters; Mildred Rood of Warren, Ruby Pishney of Rootstown, Marjorie Harkness of Louisville, Phyllis Bland of Mogadore, Olive Wearstler of Canton; five brothers; Harlan J. of Navarre, Bert C. of New Philadelphia, Kenneth E. of Greentown, Corlan M. of East Canton, Jack W. Shanower of Canton; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her 1st husband Pete Kline in 1985, her 2nd husband Russell M. Brogan in 2006 and a brother Clarence E. Shanower.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Gednetz-Ruzek Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Harnish Officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday the hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Fairmount Memorial Park in Alliance. Memorial contributions can be made in Florence's honor to the Marlboro Christian Church 9383 Edison Street, Alliance, OH 44601.
