Gail Norris Obituary
97, passed away peacefully July 14, 2016. He was born on June 8, 1919 in rural Washington County, Ohio to the late Owen and Stella Norris. Although born in southern Ohio, he spent his adult life in Canton, retiring from the Timken Co. after 40 years of service. When not at Timken, Gail could be found in his large garden or mowing lawns and shoveling walks for older neighbors. After serving in the U. S. Army during World War II in Europe, Gail returned home and married Kathleen Croston. They celebrated 68 years of marriage before his death. In addition to Kathleen, he is survived by his brother, Kermit (Winnie) Norris; three children, Michael (Deborah) Norris of Delanson, NY, Gloria (James) Cappy of Raleigh, N.C., and Kenneth (Susie) Norris of Marion, Ohio; grandchildren, Lindsay Norris, Matthew (Melissa) Norris, Julianne (Seth) Varayon, Megan Cappy, Emily Norris, and Mark Norris.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at Reed Funeral Home, 705 Raff Rd. S. W., Canton, OH 44710 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Burial and a graveside service will be held in Bartlett Cemetery, Bartlett, OH, on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 1 p.m. The family invites you to visit www.reedfuneralhome.com to read the obituary sign the online guestbook and share fond memories.
