I worked with Gary at Sheriff Office .. He was the most kind hearted man . He was always willing to help and listen ..He was the true example of a gentleman. He would always ask me if I wanted his pig feet when he brought it in for lunch. He had a smile for everyone . So sorry for your loss Wanda . Praying for family and friends through this time.

Coach Gary Pounds was a great man. He walked the walk & talked the talk. This man will be very much missed. Thanks Coach!! for being a influential person in my life and others. I remember in High school practice at Canton McKinley, you showed me your Cotton Bowl Ring and stated " If you work hard, you might just get one." Several years later, I came home and showed you one of my Rose Bowl Rings. You then laughed and stated " Welcome to the group." During that interaction, we ate countless chicken wings and relished our thoughts about football and life. At that very moment, I wanted to be like just you! Caring, Courageous, Educated and most importantly successful. Nonetheless, with this being said; you will always be remembered by your passion to live life at an optimal level. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Rest up Coach! you just scored a Touch Down.

I am so sorry to hear Gary has passed away. I attended McKinley High School with him such a nice guy. Always had a smile on his face. RIP Gary class of 1982.
