Pastor George Dunwoody, was my Pastor, brother, and friend. He was a man of God, that touched everyone he came in contact with. Never had a bad thing to say about anyone. He always brought out the best in people. God, I pray that you keep my sister Lady Robin in your hands, wrap her with your arms. I love you Robin. Pastor has gotten his wings, and he is in heaven, singing, directing the choir from the organ.

Pastor George Dunwoody was an amazing person who never was without a smile, laugh,or word of encouragement. I sang in the Urban League Choir that he directed years ago. I, also worked with him at Hartford Middle school. I witnessed his heart for the many children that he helped. I was his neighbor as well. It was a privilege to know him. You could not help but smile when you were with him. He will be greatly missed.

To know him is to love him. Who didn't love this great man with such a big heart! Pastor George carried such a beautiful spirit and gigantic smile. I am rejoicing for he has traded this earthly life for a home in GLORY. Pastor George will be greatly missed. Stay blessed Dunwoody family!

Mere words can not express the respect, love, and self confidence I learned from this man. He knew how to make you look at yourself and expect bigger and better things. He loved life and people because God was in control. When I married my wife he gave us sound marriage counseling and advice that we use to this day. In short, Mr. Reverend George Dunwoody will always be remembered for all the lives that he impacted. May those lives continue his legacy by impacting others. Rest in peace.

Mrs.Dunwoody and family,
My sister and I met George when we were all teenagers. George came with Nacoleon Torrence to do a combined choir concert in the 1970's at Macedonia Baptist Church in Waynesburg. We all became friends, and that friendship continued over the course of many years. He was fun, he had a great sense of humor, and most of all, he was a true man of God who preached the gospel and who walked the path of righteousness. We will miss him so much, but we know that he is with God and that we will see him again. May the Lord bless you and keep you, and give you peace during this difficult time.

I'm very saddened by the passing of Pastor Dunwoody. He was a man of never a cross word, nor bad intent. I've known him since the old St. Mark days on tenth street. I've always had the greatest admiration for him. He will be sorely missed upon this earth; however, now, it's about having success before God which would make all the things of this life having been worth it.

Robin, our heartfelt prayers are with you. I will truly miss my friend/brother, his smile, his crazy laughter, fun loving spirit, his giving...most of all his love of Jesus Christ. He never failed to let his light shine in every area. We became friends through the music ministry -playing, singing, etc. around Stark County. Later on I found out that he, Orlando, and Booker were friends as well. I could share many crazy fun times we shared playing, etc. in various services together...just know that I truly loved my friend. I have been praying for you both since I was made aware of his illness. Know that I will continue to keep you, your family, and the ministry - your church family lifted up during this difficult season. But God is faithful. He is so good! I am truly a 1st hand witness of this. He will see you through!!! May God continue to bless you, keep you, comfort you, and strengthen you.
Yours in Christ,

Cynthia Freeman

I will miss you my friend! Robin I am praying for you, your family and your ministry! One of my favorite memories of Pastor George was when he was my group leader doing the Experiencing God study at Antioch...that study and the way George broke it down to me...a student in grad school...changed my perspective of God and deepened my walk with Him. I am forever grateful for the impact George had on my life!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I had the privilege of serving the staff, students, and community of Hartford Middle School with Pastor George for five years; however I feel like I've known him my entire life. I treasure the memories from the Nest yet more importantly the man intertwined in the web of those memories. There was/is no one on the planet as humble, gracious, and God-fearing than Pastor George. He lived the life Christ has asked us to live. You are at peace now, my man, and I can feel your warm smile all the way from heaven. God's comfort to Lady Robin and families.
