GRACE DuBOSE Obituary
65, returned to her heavenly home on October 7, 2018 after a valiant battle with long illnesses. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace. Grace was born to the late Gertrude and James W. Ates, in Chicago, IL on March 27, 1953. Her mother remarried to Fletcher Lampton, and he was an influential part of her life. She was immersed in the Christian community by her mother and step-father that would be her lifelong support. She was surgical technician and in her later years returned to school and graduated from the Malone University in 1996 with an associate's degree in Early Childhood Education.
She married Jackie Joe DuBose the love of her life, on June 29, 1974. They were blessed with five children. Being blessed with a large family. Grace raised her children with patience, discipline and humility. She dedicated her children to God and encouraged them to explore the beauty of the gospels. Grace was an educator at heart. She was kind, and always had time to answer a question or solve a problem, no matter how small. Although sorely missed by her loved ones they celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator. Grace is preceded in death by her parents and step-father. She is survived by her husband, Jackie; son, Joseph; daughters: Patrice Virola (Sebastiano), Latrice Virola (Conrado), Jacqueline Wray (Scott) and Carmalita DuBose; her grandchildren: Alexis, Niko, Franco, Larenzo, Zebree, Carlo, Monique and Calinda Virola; and her sister, Eva Bradley (Fred); and many relative and friends.
Visitation will take place on Saturday October 13, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Calvary 2nd Mission Baptist Church, 1000 3rd St. N.E., Canton, Ohio 44704 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Phillip Moore officiating.
