Howard G. Hoke
Howard G. Hoke, age 95, of Canton, passed away Wednesday morning in Aultman Hospital. Born in Altoona, PA, a son of the late Harry and Bertha Bright Hoke, he had been a Canton resident since 1934. He was a 1932 graduate of Purdue University with a Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Masters Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Harry retired in 1976 from the Timken Co. after 42 years service where he was in Railroad Engineering. He was a member of Church of the Savior United Methodist, where he was a long-time usher, and the Professional Engineers and Surveyors and a former member of North Canton Kiwanis Club. Survived by his wife, Emily Hoke, with whom he celebrated their 67th Wedding Anniversary on Oct. 14; one niece, Joan Ferris, of Lorain; and one nephew and his wife, Dr. James and Eva Hoke, of Chapel Hill, NC. Services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Rev. George Roberts officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call one hour before the service, from 1-2 p.m., in the funeral home.
