Isabel Roca Obituary

Isabel Roca
Age 96, died Thursday after a short illness. Born in Almeria, Spain, she had lived in Canton since 1960. She became an American citizen at the age of 83 which she was very proud of. Isabel was a member of the Spanish American Womens Club.
Preceded in death by her husband, Esteban Roca in 1996. Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rosa and Joaquin Alonso of Perry Township; son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Christine Roca of North Canton; four grandchildren: Karina Alonso, Robert Alonso, Alyssa Roca-Miller, and Nicolette Martinez; and two great-grandchildren, Frankie and Sabrina Yentz.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the Lamiell Funeral Home with Msgr. Lewis Gaetano officiating. Entombment will be in the Sunset Hills Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Friends may call Monday from 1-2 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be made to:

My condolences to the family. She was a very nice lady. I remember way back in 1968 trying to talk with her in my high school Spanish, and I remember that whenever I telephoned for Jack and she answered the phone, I always asked, "Puedo hablar con Jacquin?" HA - such great memories! I'm sorry that I am unable to attend the services, but my thoughts are with you.
