Jane Offineer Obituary
age 80, of Canton, passed away Sep. 28, 2015. She was born July 19, 1935 in Canton, daughter to the late Walter and Hilda (Snyder)
Christiansen. Jane was a 1953 graduate of Lincoln High School and a 1972 graduate of Malone College. She taught for 23 years with the Canton City Schools as an elementary teacher at Belden School. Jane was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where she had taught Sunday school for many years.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, of 49 years, Robert Warren Offineer and brother, Jack Christiansen. Survivors include her children, Rick (Barbara) Offineer of Canton, Martin (Nita) Offineer of Amherst, Dante (Kathleen) Offineer of Mount Vernon; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Charlotte Davis and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church with Rev. Diana Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Warstler Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 6-8p.m. in Reed Funeral Home NORTH Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. NW as well as one hour prior to the service 10-11 a.m. in the church. To all the family of "Janie"...as we new her. I have very fond memories of our families spending time together, many picnics and late nights as our parents played cards. You have my deepest sympathy. Jane volunteered for me in my classroom and with my Ohio Reads program. She was a fantastic lady and I couldn't done it without her!! I will miss her.

I want to extend my deepest sympathy to all of Jane's Family. I have known your Mother/Grandmother since first grade at Clarendon grade school. I was fortunate to have lunch with Jane and a few of the girls we went to school with a few weeks ago. I always thought Jane was a very special lady and I am sure the World is a little better because she was a part of it.
