Joseph Becherer Obituary
age 77, of Canton, passed away Monday evening in the Astoria following an extended illness. A life resident of Canton he was the son of the late George and Mary Jane (Hale) Becherer, a graduate of Central Catholic High School and served in the U.S. Army. He had worked at Danner Press, was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and Canton Council #341, K of C.
Joe is survived by his son Dr. Joseph and Lisa Becherer of Grand Rapids, Mich.; grandsons Joseph Becherer, Vincent Becherer; brothers Thomas and Kitty Becherer of Shelbyville, Ky.; Jeff and Patti Becherer of Massillon; former wife Joanne Becherer of North Canton; sisters-in-law Paula Becherer of Canton, Joan Becherer of Canton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Richard Becherer, James Becherer, Michael Becherer, Daniel Becherer and sister Jacqueline Bergmann.
Mass of Christian burial will be Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. Edward L. Beneleit as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Friends may call Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Wackerly Funeral Home. Donations may be made in his name to St. Peter Catholic Church.
