Kenneth Winters Weidner, KB8GK
Kenneth Winters Weidner, KB8GK, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2007 in the Saint Luke Lutheran Home. Born December 11th, 1920 in Piqua, Ohio he became a lifelong resident of the Akron area. Upon graduation from Akron Central High School and working for Goodyear Tire in 1942, he enlisted and was stationed at the U.S. Navy Airship Base at Moffit Field, California. After retirement he became an avid camper and hit the road touring the United States in his recreational vehicles reporting back the sights to his sons via his amateur radio. After life on the road he settled in to the Danbury of North Canton where he enjoyed the fellowship of all. He was a lifelong member of The Valley of Canton Scottish Rite and a 32nd Degree Mason of the Elliott Lodge in Canal Fulton. He is survived by his adoring wife of 60 years Ellen L. (Nelson) Weidner also of St. Luke's and his brother Roy Weidner of Canal Fulton; Daughter, Constance Carr and son-in law Ron, and grand children Nancy Baur (Bryan) and Paul; Son, Joseph and daughter-in law Janet grandchildren Ivy Weidner-Gallentine (Brian) and Whitney; Son, William and daughter-in law Beth and grand dog Lola.
